I have been happily married for 22 years and am the mother of ten children. I have been pregnant or nursing most of my adult life. My son, the oldest, is currently serving a mission in Italy.
I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California and now live in a rural area of Colorado on a small ranch with horses, goats, a dog, and a cat. We've also raised pigs, sheep, rabbits, and cows.
Though I no longer live near the coast, I love to walk along the beach with the sea lapping at my feet and the wet sand oozing between my toes. One of my favorite childhood memories is riding my pony through the surf.
I have consumed at least 5,248 pounds of chocolate and at least that much ice cream (probably much, much more).
I also enjoy knitting by a warm, cozy fire while snow gently cascades down the window.
I clean house best when I'm dancing to disco music (even if it embarrasses my kids).
I've always loved to write and started my own novel, similar to the Encyclopedia Brown series, when I was in sixth grade. I now write for children and youth. I am a member of SCBWI and am constantly searching for time to write all the stories in my head.
