For over twenty years, Life, the Universe, and Everything: The Marion K. “Doc” Smith Symposium on Science Fiction and Fantasy, has helped its guests, attendees, and organizers experience the best of a BYU education by bringing together the finest local and national authors, editors, and scholars in science fiction and fantasy to seek truth together. We combine the fun of a science fiction convention with the depth of an academic symposium. We are passionately devoted to the premise that speculative fiction, in its depth, variety, and color, is a rich personal and social context for exploring the spiritual foundations of our temporal world.
